Resilient Friendship

Friendship
is like the scent
and the hugs of orange!
Brilliant,
Resilient
... and heaven made warmth.

When I stop ...
Look ...
Listen ...
It is amazing,
who I become.

My Heart Goes Out

My 18 year old son and I were having sandwiches and strawberries for dinner ... I suddenly saw the white ceramic bowl was graced, here and there with hearts... I got so excited! Jonny nearly wept at his sappy mom's romantic "ah hah" moment. Life splashes in, just when we need it most!

Yesterday

Yesterday, as it walked along …
Winds blew fierce,
many things like branches and lives
Were moved over or fallen to the ground.
As sudden as the wind,
... I saw the reflection of your face …
Everything stilled, into a moment of profound…
In that breath, I caught brief glimpse,
Of heaven and of grace.

Think in Rhyme

I like to write …
To uncover, immeasurable thought in rhyme.
It has an effect that calms me,
Without spending a dime.
It lingers longer,
Than simply the one line.
It lingers, like oil …
Dripping from a vine.

Self Echo:
I love to feel the drapery
of the vines ...
and their sheltering
long, long lines!
It in simple, unsequestered beauty ...
The never ending one line
is sublime ...

Let Your Sail Fly

 So much beauty,
Cascading
Parading before my eyes
Sitting on the Columbia’s Southern bank…
Watching your yellow sailboat, motor on by.
... Ahh… if only the sail were to fly.

This is a follow up of the Shoes page.  Thank you for New Memories:

Shoes by the door …
I love not having to keep score …
Love the hugs these feet represent …
Love that their time is precious, once again.

Wait for It

 My poetry is tucked away…
Just out of reach …
Through this crawl,
Past the knoll …
Near the beach, ...
On the banks of the bay.

When poems do not come ...
Stop along the water,
And listen for one.

Being In The Room

Last evening, Jonny Ashlock and I had dinner with Kayla Fioravanti, Dennis & Caiden, Elizabeth Ghormley & Dennis Ghormley, Mark Alan Effinger & Olivia, Tyler, Dean & Cheri Perry. Since we hadn't seen each other in 15 years, I was taking photos and realize today that I did not take photos with you guys and myself ... I do want you to know that I was there with you at least in spirit and this photo... is proof:

Being in the room …
Really means,
Experiencing the people…
Feeling the lapse of time …
Listening to the reasons,
they have become, so fine.

Being in the room …
Does not mean “being the room”…
It does mean staying,
not leaving,
not walking out …
Just when the conversation was starting to bloom.

Being in the room …
Means staying, til the talk quiets down to the marrow…
Staying, til the road of friendship,
Merges to the bridge that is narrow.

Thank you all, for building in this world
a much better, tomorrow!
